HARMONIOUS HOUSEHOLDS ACCORDING TO THE CONGREGATION OF MASJID AS-SALAM KOTAKAN, SITUBONDO, EAST JAVA

Abstract

Household harmony is a crucial aspect of community life, positively impacting family members and the surrounding community. This study aims to examine the factors contributing to household harmony from the perspective of the congregation of Masjid As-Salam, Kotakan, Situbondo, East Java. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving 26 respondents of both genders with various marital statuses. The findings indicate that obedience to Allah, tranquility, and peace, as well as the application of religious values and principles, are considered key factors in creating a harmonious household. Respondents emphasize the importance of worship, the implementation of religious teachings in daily life, and orientation towards the afterlife. Additionally, mutual understanding, effective communication, and support and acceptance of each other's shortcomings play a significant role in maintaining household harmony. This study contributes to the understanding of family dynamics within the social and cultural context of Indonesia and opens opportunities for further research on this topic.
